Daniel 12:1-3; Hebrews 10:11-14, 18; Mark 13:24-42. The prophet Daniel speaks of a time when a great prince shall arise, a guardian of the people, and many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake. The Letter to the Hebrews speaks of one [who] offered one sacrifice for sins, and took his seat forever at the right hand of God. In the Gospel, Jesus speaks to his disciples about the Son of Man’s coming after a time of tribulation.

I too have decided after investigating everything accurately anew to write it down in an orderly sequence for you...so that you may receive the certainty of the teachings you have received (Lk 1:3-4). Luke the Evangelist came from Antioch in Syria. Long tradition says he was a doctor, the beloved physician mentioned in Colossians 4:14.
He became a disciple of Saint Paul, who testified to his fidelity in hard times: Luke is the only one with me (2 TM 4:11). Luke chronicled Paul’s missionary journeys in the book of Acts. The third Gospel has been consistently attributed to him since antiquity.
As indicated in the opening verse, Luke was a researcher. He was a master of detail, including far more of it than any other evangelist. He wove together prophecy and history, while still providing necessary explanations for his non-Hebrew audience. It is to Luke that the Church is indebted for the infancy narrative, including the Magnificat and the Benedictus. According to Saint Jerome, Luke died in Greece at the age of eighty-four.
Magnificent Father, thank you for the gift of St. Luke and his writings. May we imitate his fidelity, Care, and courage in spreading the Gospel.

Our Centennial Celebration!
Our Centennial Celebration has begun! On November 9-10, 2024, we began the 100 Year Anniversary of Saints Peter and Paul Church. What a great weekend! The Masses and the Renewal of Wedding Vows were holy and beautiful; both the Saturday and Sunday receptions were packed; the food was great, and the grace of God touched all!
Go here for videos of the Masses and here for photos.
Remember, though, the Jubilee Celebration is for the whole year—see the indulgence granted to us by the Vatican below! Throughout the year, in addition to regular Saturday Confession, there will be a priest in the confessionals during Friday's 7:30-8:30 adoration, and also anytime during business hours in the rectory.
Let us take this year to gratefully reflect on the gifts given to us by God the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit; to honor those who have come before us, and to preserve our faith and our Church for our posterity! Guess Who?Guess Who? Can you recognize this week’s lovely mystery married couple? Last week’s couple were Art and Joan Costamagna, married here back in 1958. Want to see ALL our married couples? JUBILEE PLENARY INDULGENCE
On the Occasion of the Jubilee Celebration Of the 100th Anniversary of the Church.
The Apostolic Penitentiary in Rome, charged with the granting of indulgences, has designated Saints Peter and Paul Church in the Archdiocese of San Francisco, California as a Vatican recognized site for Plenary Indulgence and has granted a Plenary Indulgence to the faithful who truly repent and are driven by charity under these certain conditions from November 1, 2024 until November 1, 2025. A Plenary Indulgence may also apply, through the faithful’s own sufferings, to the Souls in Purgatory.
WHAT IS A PLENARY INDULGENCE? An indulgence is a remission before God of the temporal punishment for sin the guilt of which is already forgiven, which a properly disposed member of the Christian faithful obtains under certain conditions with the help of the Church which, as the minister of redemption, dispenses and applies authoritatively the treasure of the satisfaction of Christ and the saints. Code of canon Law (can. 992). A plenary indulgence can be gained only once a day. In order to obtain it, the faithful must, in addition to being in a state of grace, have the interior disposition of complete detachment from sin, even venial sin.
Please pick up a flyer from the tables for all information on how to obtain this wonderful spiritual gift!
