The Don Bosco Study Group meets regularly (six times per year approximately) to discuss and to deepen one’s Salesian spirituality by reading and discussing books and videos and through faith-sharing. That’s the message of the Gabriel Project, a ministry of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, committed to the that support of pregnant mothers and their unborn children. Originating in the fishing village of Porticello, Sicily, and celebrated in San Francisco since 1935, Madonna del Lume honors Mary, “Mother of Light,” the Patroness of fishermen. Men, women, and families are invited to become members of La Madonna del Lume and participate in our festivities!
La Madonna del Lume feast day will be celebrated this year on Sunday, October 2nd, 2022 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. A mass for fishermen will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2013 at the Fishermen and Seamen’s Chapel on Fisherman’s Wharf.

The Salesian Boys Club was established in 1918 by Fr. Oreste Trinchieri to administer to the needs of the youth of North Beach and now has expanded to serve children from all over the city. Founded by Don Bosco himself, the Cooperators are an association of Christians living in the world according to the Chrism of Don Bosco. A type of “third order,” the Cooperators also work on keeping the church beautiful, and helping with any and all sorts of parish functions. The Cooperators always help when needed.
